National Indigenous Peoples Day

Written by CarePros | Jun 20, 2020 9:14:00 AM

June 21 marks National Indigenous Peoples Day, a day to celebrate the diverse heritage, cultures, and outstanding achievements of First Nations, Inuit, and Metis!

This is a day for Canadians to recognize these three groups as Aboriginal peoples, also known as Indigenous peoples. This day was chosen as it is the longest day of the year, and communities had celebrated on or near this day in the past.

The Government of Canada is constantly working to advance reconciliation and foster the relationship with Indigenous peoples to promote a healthy and cooperative future.
